Meet Your Candidate for the TAAR Board of Directors 2020 Election | Heather Hudson, RE/MAX Bayshore
Who you are
I’ve been a REALTOR with RE/MAX Bayshore for 3 years. I own a title searching business, MI Abstract Services, Inc., that covers all 83 counties in Michigan, for the last 17 years. I’m a single mom of 2 amazing and entertaining teenagers. My son is a senior at GTA and my daughter is a freshman at TC Central. This year I was blessed to be one of the facilitators of the 13 week reVIVE program for Single MOMM, a local non-profit that helps single moms in a myriad of wonderful ways. I will also be working with them as they further develop their housing program, which I am extremely excited about. I have a passion for helping people achieve their dreams, improve their lives, and find their homes. Some of my favorite things to do are reimagining a space, drawing up floor plans, and discovering the potential of a house, transforming it into a home. I sometimes find myself being hands on in renovations, building a set of stairs, installing flooring, hanging a light fixture, or painting walls, putting my years of renovation experience into practice with family, friends and clients. I’ve been a cub scout leader, girl scout leader, president of the parent’s group at school, and volunteered for many other organizations including Habitat for Humanity and TART Trails. I look forward to participating even more in local non-profits over the coming years.
Why you would like to be a director
I would like to be a Director because I want to be more involved in our industry. There is so much to learn and it evolves continuously and I would like to be able to see the evolution in real time. I want to learn from colleagues who have been in real estate for years and be more fully involved in the processes of our industry. It has been a privilege to work in a brokerage with so many established and accomplished agents and I would like to broaden my professional experience by getting to know more agents and affiliates in our community on a more personal level and have the opportunity to learn from them as I also learn more about our profession through more immersive experience with TAAR.
