Caliber Home Loans is located in downtown Traverse City and is one of the fastest-growing mortgage lenders in the Country. Our loan officers are exceptional and really take the time to explain the process to our borrowers. I am the support staff, the person you work with after you start the loan process. I help our borrowers navigate underwriting and my goal is to make the home buying or refinancing experience as efficient and easy as possible, if not enjoyable, for our borrowers.
I have been with Caliber since April 2017. I have worked in the insurance, banking, lending, and title industries for almost 20 years. I am currently on my own 3rd home purchase myself. I put myself in my borrower’s shoes when asking them for information and working towards clear-to-close and closing. The way I see it, the borrowers, loan officers, and I are a team working towards their goals together. We are a big family at Caliber and like to treat our borrowers as such.
Just some fun facts:
Though I’ve been in the financial industry my entire adult life, my degree is actually in Psychology. What my degree taught me is how to be a good listener and to be adaptable. Everyone is different in what they need from us and how they approach situations, you just have to listen to what they are telling you.
When I’m not working, I enjoy fishing and hiking with my husband of 10 years and our German Shepherd Fritz, or lounging at the beach and drinking some local wine. My husband and I travel a few times a year around the U.S. and are starting to expand more to Europe. My maiden name is St. Louis, I grew up in St. Ignace, and attended college on the Canadian border where French is prevalent. With my heritage and love of traveling, I decided I should learn other languages. I took 6 years of French between high school and college and started learning again about a year ago. I plan to move on to learning Spanish and Italian eventually.
As equal to my love of good wine and traveling, is my love of all animals, especially dogs. A friend of mine and I started a dog washing business in high school where my love for these amazing animals started. Years later, my husband and I started a dog-watching business. Our busy work schedules are only allowing us to watch our regulars now, but it brings us so much joy to bring a dog in and treat them like family. Family is what you make of it.
